In order to enter and sojourn in the Republic of Indonesia as an international tourist, you must first obtain
either of the three most convenient immigration entry permits highlighted below. In addition, your international passport must be
valid for at least another six months on the day of your arrival in Indonesia, and you must hold an onward or return ticket.
Nationals of the following ten countries are eligible to enter and remain in Indonesia for 30 days under the visa
waiver program known as Special Visa Exemption for Tourism or Bebas Visa Kunjungan Khusus Wisata (BVKKW) in
Indonesian: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines (The), Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and
Vietnam.
If you are a national of one of the above ten countries, and you do not opt for either of the payable Electronic
Visa on Arrival or Visa on Arrival proper respectively outlined below, then you will be issued free of charge upon your arrival
in Indonesia with a non-extendable and inconvertible 30-day stay permit in the form of a small immigration entry sticker to be
applied in your passport.
In order to make use of the free Special Visa Exemption for Tourism facility at the airport of your arrival,
simply ignore the separately designated Visa on Arrival payment service (see also Visa on Arrival further below) and proceed
directly to the immigration clearance, set up before the baggage claim area, where your travel documents will be verified and an
immigration entry sticker applied in your passport.
Nationals of the following 87 countries and territories are eligible to purchase on-line and well ahead of their
planned arrival in Indonesia a 30-day Electronic Visa on Arrival known as e-VoA: Albania, Andorra, Argentina,
Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada,
Chile, China, Colombia, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong SAR,
Hungary, Iceland, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Laos, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg,
Malaysia, Maldives, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Morocco, Myanmar, Netherlands (The), New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Palestine, Peru,
Philippines (The), Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Seychelles, Singapore, Slovakia,
Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Suriname, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Tunisia, Turkiye,
Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States of America, Uzbekistan, Vatican City, and Vietnam.
If you are a national of one of the above 87 countries, then you are eligible to purchase, exclusively through
the on-line portal molina.imigrasi.go.id run by
the Indonesian General Directorate of Immigration, and no earlier than 89 days prior to your planned date of arrival in Indonesia,
a 30-day e-VoA, which takes the form of an electronic file in Portable Document Format (PDF) and currently costs IDR 500,000.
Contrary to the free Special Visa Exemption for Tourism outlined above, the e-VoA can be extended once for another 30 days through
the same on-line portal.
At the airport of your arrival then, simply ignore the separately designated Visa on Arrival payment service
(which is where travelers who are not in possession of an e-VoA still can purchase a Visa on Arrival proper as outlined below) and
proceed directly to one of the designated e-VoA counters at the immigration clearance, set up before the baggage claim area, where
your travel documents will be verified and an immigration entry sticker applied in your passport.
Nationals of the 87 countries who are eligible to purchase the e-VoA outlined above prior to their arrival in
Indonesia, also are eligible to purchase a 30-day Visa on Arrival proper upon their arrival in Indonesia. Known simply as
VoA, this takes the form of a visa sticker to be applied in your passport and currently equally costs IDR 500,000. In
principle, the VoA can also be extended once for another 30 days at immigration offices throughout Indonesia.
In order to process your VoA at the airport of your arrival, first proceed to the separately designated Visa on
Arrival payment service where you must first pay the applicable IDR 500,000 visa fee in cash IDR or any foreign currency. Collect
the receipt for your payment and present this at one of the designated VoA counters at the immigration clearance, set up before
the baggage claim area, where your travel documents will be verified and both a VoA sticker and immigration entry sticker applied
in your passport.
